Maui Youth & Family Services Partners with The Upswing Fund
We are thrilled to announce our partnership with The Upswing Fund for Adolescent Mental Health.
With all of the changes in our schools over the past year, it’s been harder than ever to help young people in need, in particular LGTBQ+ youth and youth of color. The Upswing Fund identified a trend: that these youth were most likely to not have access to mental health services. They then stepped forward to provide funds to help this vulnerable population.
Maui Youth & Family Services is one of only two Hawaii organizations to receive this grant award. With the funds, the organization will do specialized outreach to these populations and provide counseling services to youth with behavioral health issues.
The Upswing Fund’s 80+ non-profit grant awardees collectively represent $10.8M in grants to provide mental health services to adolescents of color and LGBTQ+ youth across the U.S. The funding provided will increase the capacity of these organizations to address longstanding mental health disparities for youth, in addition to mental health challenges exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
