Holistic Treatment with Promising Results
The grant will allow Malama to train staff in brain and body therapies to supplement existing substance use disorder treatment. Launched in 2021, STP already provides holistic treatment options like cultural activities, gardening, and nutritional support.
Addressing Trauma to Prevent Relapse
The additional training provided by the grant will allow Malama to address the long-term effects of trauma, a factor that has been shown to contribute to relapse in clients who have completed other treatment programs.
