Maui Cleaning Care will donate a portion of proceeds from every cleaning to a local nonprofit and has decided to start with Malama Family Recovery Center. Maui Cleaning Care’s owners, Adam and Margaret Rysmanowski and their daughter Angelica Kowal, recently moved to Maui from Chicago, where they established their small family-owned and operated business in 1996.

The company, originally called European House Maids, specializes in vacation rentals, residential, commercial and construction cleaning. “When we were still in Chicago and creating our business plan for our move to Maui, we knew that one of our first priorities was finding out how we could give back to the community,” said Adam. Malama Family Recovery Center is Maui’s only women-specific addiction treatment center and the only place on the island where young children and infants can live with their mothers in therapeutic and sober living settings.

“I am a very hands-on mom and our children Natalia, Angelica and Michael mean the world to us,” said Margaret. “We all go through hardships in life, but I can’t imagine these mothers who are trying to get help not being able to have their children with them. Malama makes that possible and we are thrilled to contribute to those efforts and to help other organizations as well.” In addition to childcare, Malama also provides developmental screenings for clients’ children and parenting training and resources through their Early Learning Center.
