Fall 2025 Newsletter

Aloha,

One of the core services at Aloha House is the residential substance use treatment program on our Makawao campus. Here clients get around-the-clock support and treatment for their substance use.

We’re excited to announce we are expanding these services with the addition of a new 12 bed dormitory.

Currently under construction, this dormitory will help us meet the growing need for services by increasing capacity by 25%,  accommodating an additional 72 clients per year.

The residential program is an important resource for our community as it gives participants a safe, stable place to live while they receive the level of care they need. The program includes group and individual counseling, psychoeducation classes, interpersonal skill building, and cultural learning opportunities.

Over 300 individuals participate each year. Without this program, those struggling with substance use would be at risk for continued use, injury, victimization, and potentially becoming unsheltered.

On our campus we’re able to provide a safe place to heal, learn and grow. With the addition of the new dormitory, we look forward to expanding our commitment so that everyone can get the help they need.

We appreciate the many supporters who have helped us get this far, including the County of Maui, State of Hawaii, and several private foundations and individuals. You can also lend a hand with your support by donating here.

Mahalo nui loa,

Nicole Hokoana, CEO

Jamie’s Story

“The biggest impact the program has had in my life is meeting all the workers at Aloha House; feeling the love, support and belief they have in people when, at times we do not have the belief in our own selves.” Read more about Jamie here.
