Bezos’ Donation Supports Mothers in Recovery
This act of philanthropy will directly benefit the therapeutic living program at Mālama Family Recovery Center. This residential program is the only one of its kind on Maui, allowing children and infants to live with their mothers while they participate in a therapeutic and sober living environment. The program helps address the needs of women and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, a contributing factor to and consequence of substance use.
This donation will help to offset the loss of a federal grant, ensuring that the program can continue to serve approximately 90 women and 50 youth annually.
