Maui Behavioral Health Resources is your source for a full continuum of mental health and substance use treatment on Maui. Our integrated approach provides evidence-based therapies and personalized recovery plans to empower lasting transformation for adults, youth and families.

Offering Integrated Services
Under one umbrella, MBHR provides comprehensive services through three respected nonprofit agencies:
- Aloha House — Residential and outpatient substance use treatment for adults, including detox, counseling, and sober living. See the Applicant Admissions Packet for details.
- Malama Family Recovery Center — Gender-specific addiction treatment for women with programming for parenting, mental health, cultural healing, and more
- Maui Youth & Family Services — Prevention, intervention, and residential programs focused on at-risk youth and strengthening family foundations

"By the time I was 17, I was taking so many pills, it lead to me having grand mal seizures. During this time I got pregnant, and gave birth. A few years after that, I was homeless, faced drug charges, went to jail, and found out I was pregnant again. Because of Malama, I am now in a better space than I ever thought I could be."

Your journey begins with a free, confidential screening and comprehensive assessment to understand your unique needs and situation. From there, we create a personalized treatment plan combining evidence-based therapies at the appropriate level of care. Most services are covered by insurance or offered at low cost or no cost to participants.

Accredited for Quality Care
Your well-being is our top priority. All three MBHR agencies — Aloha House, Malama Family Recovery Center, and Maui Youth & Family Services — are accredited by CARF, the prestigious Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.
CARF is an independent, nonprofit organization establishing rigorous standards for quality rehabilitation programs and services. Their accreditation process involves on-site surveys by professionals who inspect facilities, review procedures, and consult with staff to evaluate consumer satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.

- Aloha House is CARF-accredited for a full continuum of adult mental health and substance use services, including case management, crisis intervention, residential and outpatient treatment, and drug court programs.
- Malama Family Recovery Center‘s CARF accreditation covers community housing, intensive outpatient, and therapeutic community programs – all with a specialized focus on gender-specific addiction treatment for women.
- Maui Youth & Family Services is accredited by CARF for youth outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use programs, out-of-home mental health treatment, family services, and prevention/diversion services.
