Thanks to the generosity of Pukalani Superette’s customers over the past few months, the store was able to donate $1,374.39 to Aloha House on May 11, 2016.
The donation will help Aloha House promote recovery and healthy lifestyles to individuals and families by providing compassionate, effective and comprehensive behavioral health services with the spirit of excellence and aloha. The nonprofit provides residential and outpatient services to thousands of individuals and families in the community each year.
“We have a loyal and generous customer base that make these donations possible,” said Pukalani Superette Owner Myles Nakashima. “We are pleased to be able to help Aloha House and support our local community.” Funds were generated from customer donations left in collection canisters at the end of each of the store’s checkout lines.
“We are tremendously grateful to the Pukalani Superette ohana for going out of its way to help so many people in Maui,” said Aloha House CEO Jud Cunningham. “Myles and his staff are an amazing example of how a successful small business can have a huge impact in its community.”
